DIY Glow Face Mask Recipe

This DIY face mask for a healthy and radiant skin is easy and fast. The natural power of aloe vera, vitamin C, and honey will give you that healthy glow you are looking for. No nasty chemicals. Just pure natural goodness.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons aloe vera gel (with vitamin C)
  • 1/2 teaspoon honey
  • (Optional) 1-2 drops of lavender essential oil (for a calming scent)

Instructions

  1. Combine the aloe vera gel and honey in a bowl.
  2. If using, add the lavender essential oil and mix well.
  3. Apply a thin layer to clean, dry skin, avoiding the eye area.
  4. Leave on for 10-15 minutes. A slight tingling sensation is normal, but if it becomes uncomfortable, rinse immediately.
  5. Rinse thoroughly with cool water and pat dry.
  6. Follow up with a moisturizer if needed.

Our aloe vera gel with vitamin C + E is great for this recipe. Normally, you would have to use lemon for the vitamin C. However, for a lot of people lemon acid is irritating to the skin. The optional lavender essential oil provides a calming scent, but feel free to leave it out if you prefer a fragrance-free mask.

Enjoy your DIY glow mask treatment!

Benefits of a Vitamin C Glow Face Mask

There's a reason vitamin C is a superstar in the skincare world! This mask harnesses its power to deliver a multi-pronged attack on dullness. Here's what you can expect:

  • Brighter, more even skin tone: vitamin C helps diminish the appearance of dark spots and hyperpigmentation, leaving your complexion looking more radiant and even.
  • Boosted collagen production: as we age, collagen production slows down, leading to wrinkles and loss of firmness. Vitamin C helps stimulate collagen synthesis, keeping your skin plump and youthful-looking.
  • Protection from free radicals: these environmental aggressors damage skin cells, accelerating the signs of aging. Vitamin C's antioxidant properties help neutralize them, protecting your skin from future damage.
  • Hydration boost: honey, a natural humectant, draws moisture to the skin, leaving it feeling dewy and soft.
  • Soothing and calming: aloe vera's anti-inflammatory properties can soothe irritation and reduce redness, making this mask suitable for sensitive skin (especially when using the version without lemon juice).

Homemade Face Mask

Homemade face masks are surging in popularity for a few reasons. First, they offer a customizable approach to skincare – you can tailor the ingredients to target your specific concerns, whether it's dryness, dullness, or irritation. Second, they're often gentler on the skin than store-bought masks, which can contain harsh chemicals or fragrances. Finally, the DIY aspect allows for a fun and budget-friendly way to treat yourself with fresh, natural ingredients.
